What is the structure and working principle of the drum Taobo soybean polishing machine?

1

The taobo soybean polishing machine is an agricultural product processing equipment used to remove impurities such as dust, bean skin debris, mold, and slight yellow spots on the soybean surface, while making the soybean surface smoother and cleaner. Its core working principle is to achieve “cleaning” and “polishing” of soybeans through physical effects (friction, collision, air separation, etc.).

 Core Structure
The drum-type soybean polisher’s structure is designed around the core principle of friction and collision generated by drum rotation. It consists of five major modules: the feeding system, the polishing system, the separation system, the power system, and the frame. Each module contains specific functional components that work together to complete the polishing process.

The soybean polishing machine’s workflow follows a clear, progressive structure, with each step corresponding to a distinct mechanical structure and function. The details are as follows:
1. Pretreatment: Feeding and Initial Screening
Purpose: Prevents impurities (such as small stones, straw, and large foreign matter) from entering the polishing core components, preventing equipment wear and affecting the polishing effect.
Working Process:
Soybeans to be processed enter the machine through a feed hopper, typically equipped with an inclined screening screen below.
The soybeans pass through the screen under the force of gravity, while impurities such as straw and soil larger in diameter than the beans are intercepted by the screen and discharged through a dedicated impurity outlet. Simultaneously, some light dust is carried away by preliminary air flow during the descent (some machines include a built-in pre-blower).

2、Core Polishing: Friction and Collision Remove Surface Impurities

This is the core process of the polishing machine. Through controlled friction and collision, impurities adhering to the soybean surface (such as dust, hull fragments, and slight mold spots) are removed, while the surface of the beans becomes smooth due to friction.

1). The motor rotates the support roller, which in turn drives the polishing drum at a low speed (typically 20-40 rpm).
2). After entering the drum, the soybeans are carried to a certain height as the drum rotates. Then, due to gravity, they fall, repeatedly rubbing against the drum’s inner wall and causing minor collisions.
3). Rubber plates/brushes on the drum’s inner wall further enhance friction, removing surface impurities while preventing bean breakage.

3: Air Separation (Separation System – Induced Draft Fan Operation)
When the soybeans are polished and discharged from the drum outlet, the induced draft fan is activated simultaneously, creating a negative pressure airflow near the outlet.
4. Screening, Purification, and Product Collection (Separation System – Vibrating Screen Operation)
The falling soybeans enter the vibrating screen, where the vibration of the screen further separates fine impurities.

3

The Taobo soybean polisher utilizes a core design of “gentle friction generated by low-speed drum rotation” combined with multiple separation methods including “primary screening – air separation – vibrating screen” to achieve efficient cleaning and polishing of soybeans. It is a classic device that combines “effectiveness, low breakage, and ease of operation.”
